Today I decided to focus on textures rather than any specific scenery as i was in a semi-macro mood, although my lens is not a macro (Tamron 17-50mm) it did the job quite well. While using my camera i noticed that the camera was really struggling with the lighting and I did not find out until quite some time that my ISO was set at 200. This seems to be a very common mistake for me, I must just concentrate so much on the image and the settings that i forget about the simple things.
Though out the shoot I was constantly trying to get textures that seemed distorted or sandy at some cases, mainly because these sort of surfaces offer a different reaction with the light. Must of the time this fails and looks terrible but you do get lucky some times and end up with really interesting outcomes.
For must of the photos I set my AF zone to a small cluster on the right hand side, the main reason for this is because I like to blend in the items i photograph with the background. I think this adds a really good perspective to photos especially if you are using a macro lens.
