58th Shoot

I have mentioned the majority of the exhibitions that have been curated in my year and the last one ironically is my groups. We had put plenty of effort into bringing this show to the standard it was at and i must say although we did not have a big audience, our audience had the must fun. the whole exhibition was an interactive show where the visitor's could play around with the work and switch some of the work's around as they please. At the end we were left with a bit of a mess and smiles all around reliefed that our hard work and effort had finally paid off.

57th Shoot

I wanted to take a walk on my own around the city centre tonight and reflect on some of the practise's I have gotten into. This is my main way of recreation as it provides me with something to keep be busy when i am alone and a chance to take some quick & fun snaps. I hope you enjoy these images and maybe reflect a part of me and what I enjoy to do sometimes.

56th Shoot

There I was at the last exhibition today before mine and i wanted to bring some of the work into my blog simply because i thought it had a great sense of style with the lighting an general setup being at a professional level. The group who curated the show had some graffiti artist's setup a piece live while the audience watched, this added a great deal of interest in the show as we all watched the artist's at there trade.

55th Shoot

Due to a rainy afternoon I came to the decision to stray close to my camera and not get it wet as I would have been outside for the must part. This meant I had a limit of the area I could actually reach and i decided to shoot around the places I have before except try and make it a bit different in composition.

54th Shoot

Because i was coming home a bit late from school I took it as an opportunity to take some photo's before it was too late. I took some photos on my way home which happen's to be a walk across the city centre,  this was the plan but I ended up taking a tour around Birmingham. The places I took an interest in were the fountain and other historic building's and artwork'd around the second city.

53rd Shoot

The focus on this shoot was afterlife and I thought photo' like these which were inspired by a previous shoot would make the perfect match. Because my exposure was not too long I thought there would be no point in taking a tripod but I could not hav been more wrong. Although the blur is not too bad in must part's I constantly thought it could be better despite not having a tripod, I did however learn an important yet always forgot lesson "always come prepared".

52nd Shoot

As my curation group are nearing the end and starting to build our show, we have been busy gaining some more material for the show. Due to our project being centred around more than 2 artist's we have been busy with getting ready for invitation's for people as well as poster's being spread around campus.

51st Shoot

I was making some pieces of work with ink and decided to photograph and critique it, since it went so well last time and I thought you would enjoy seeing more of my work. As for now I am experimenting for a new practise so I am pretty much just throwing paint about hoping it will do something interesting. I also stopped round to one of the curation groups show as I had missed it on the opening due to some medical dilema's.

50th Shoot

Every year Birmingham get's ready for the easter egg hunt which happens every year around easter time in the central part of the city. This attract's young people to join in the challenge to win prizes which are mostly supplied by different companies operating in the UK and internationally  This brings a lot of attention to volunteers to join in building the project and making it safe for everyone which gives Birmingham a child friendly and must of all safe atmosphere.

49th Shoot

On the last day of the trip I had to be on deck all day so I had to resort to my phone camera for some quick and sneaky photos. There is obviously a loss in quality compared to my SLR but i did try to make up for it by placing the camera where there was no reflection of light for a softer saturation of colour around certain areas. With this being the last day of the trip I did get a few good photos despite the lack of time and equipment but being on duty there was not much I could have done.

48th Shoot

On the second day of the trip was going to be my first time on see for a few hours, as explained earlier I would not be able to take many photo's as i will be spending my whole time sailing. I did have time before departure to take some photos of my friends getting ready and setting up the ship for departure. It was a very foggy day which gave this very eery feeling to the morning and I couldn't help but think it would have looked quite well with my camera.

47th Shoot

During my naval duties it was made clear to me that I would not be able to bring my camera for trip although after i was reliefed from the day I would take a few snaps. I did not use the camera as much as I would have liked but I was there for my training and not for my log so I did have to consider the fact that my work would come first. The first night was quite hard as i had never lived on a boat of any sort before although I was excited and willing there was this overwhelming sense of confusion as I tried to grasp everything at once.

Sea weekend.

During my first month as a student in Birmingham I signed up to a Royal Navy training program (Birmingham University Naval Unit) and as a member I will be going on a sailing trip around the english sea's with them this weekend. I will be bringing my camera but I may not be taking many photos as i will be on duty for the majority of the trip although I will bring it on deck whenever I can. This trip will be fundamental for my training as a sailor, I am very excited to go out into sea and will hopefully come back with a few good shot's. If I use my camera regularly enough I want to capture life as a sailor at sea instead of just the oceans itself although i have never been at sea before so i do not know what to expect on the expedition.

46th Shoot

I wanted to get into a place with a lot of people around me, in a way i wanted to be in a crowd and show a confined place in photos. I took to the Birmingham market with the countless stalls and hundred's of visitors, the people here from many different cultures so you cans ense a diversity.

45th Shoot

Being part of a different curation group I like to take photos for them and sometimes make them videos to along with our blog. As part fo the art show groups must choose artist's and work with them which is the reason behind all the paper and wrapped shoes.

44th Shoot

As the curation groups in my college are coming to the end I get to see more of the shows and precesses that go on around them. The show from tonight was entitled IMAGO which latin for reflection, the type of reflection around this show was that of an individuals life from birth to death and parts of living. The show had work from different artist's in the college who each contributed there work and the exhibition itself was more like a journey of an individual from birth through to there death which i thought they pulled of well.

43rd Shoot

During sunset the Birmingham cathedral will usually have a lot of people walking through from the town and when the lighting is particularly good it can be a wonderful walk. The cathedral will usually have choirs which can be heard outside which adds a refuge to the city, replacing the sound of traffic and commotion by pedestrians walking by. The Church was built for the first bishop of Birmingham and shows an excellent amount of detail from the georgian era with a clock tower and external pillars holding the Artwork up.
